Saturday, April 8, will be a big day in Smith Alberta. That’s the day of Rural Women’s Recharge, A Wellness Event.
“Seize the opportunity to relax, re-focus and explore themes of personal growth,” says the poster, distributed last week by the M.D. of Lesser Slave River Rural Services Department.
Sessions at the all-day event include one by Monica Knight, called ‘Dance to the Beat of Your Own Drum.’ That’s in the morning. Knight takes centre stage again in the p.m. with ‘Dancing in the Dark: Time Management Through Imagery.’
The morning ‘breakout session’ has presentations by Sheila Willis of ‘A Place to Pause Retreats,’ Kandee Stadnyk on toxin-free lifestyle, yoga by Camille Gatto and Smith’s own Danielle Geddes on equine-assisted therapy.
Following that, Sonia Brownless speaks on something called ‘Smoothie Sensation.’
Directly after lunch, Christie Pollack of Christie’s Gardens and Greenhouses speaks on ‘Waterwize Gardening.’
The afternoon breakout session is much the same as the morning, with the exception of Pollack’s presentation on ‘transplanting succulents and their propagation.’
