The Michener Minute……

RMSS had a super last week. Here’s what we were up to:

As part of celebrating Metis week in Roland, the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers were invited in to grace our stage last week. Our Jr. High students got to witness some high-level Metis dancing, including the Red River Jig. The dancers were all siblings aged 15 to 19 and were amazing. Many of our kids got to join in with the performers and learn a few steps. They had a blast watching, dancing and cheering on the presenters. Thanks to the Ivan Flett Memorial Dancers for brightening our day with such an awesome performance!

Student Recognition:

Each week, dozens of students are nominated for this award around our building. They get nominated for kind deeds, great academic efforts/results, acts of citizenship and leadership. The list is read aloud throughout the school to recognize all nominees and then a random draw determines our weekly winner. Congratulations to last week’s winner  – Wesley Nuttall!
Some of our Jr. High Science students travelled to Edmonton on November 20th for the Skills Canada Cardboard Boat Competition.
Thanks to Miss Hollohan for taking them. Stay tuned for results in the paper.
