Slave Lake Koinonia Christian School kicking some serious volleyball butt!

It is has been exciting season for Slave Lake Koinonia Christian School ( SLKCS ) volleyball teams.

The school’s Junior girls volleyball team played in the second Annual Court Battle Classic hosted by St Francis of Assisi Catholic School on September 28 and 29, where the girls won was the tournament.

Coach Lacey Plante says this was the girls first win.

“It was very fun and we are very excited to participate next year.”

Plante says the most recent tournament for the junior high girls and junior high boys team was the Josh Halverson Junior Volleyball Tournament hosted by Prairie River Junior High in High Prairie on October 12 and 13. She mentions the girls tied for third out of 12 teams and the boys tied for third out of six.

“Again this was a great tournament and a lot of fun.”

Plante adds the school had so much appreciation for the organizers of these tournaments. She says it takes a lot of time and dedication and they are making school sports very fun.

The next tournament will be the HPSD Divisionals hosted by Prairie River Junior High in High Prairie on October 26 and 27.

Plante says both the junior girls and junior boys teams will be attending.

“We would like to make sure a big thank you goes out to Carwald for their generous donation to our school athletic’s program.”

“Also to the Northern Lakes College for the use of their gymnasium. These are a real blessing!”
