The latest from the Slave Lake Icedogs coach Todd White is four new signings for the team. This follows a prospects camp held at River Cree on the May long weekend.
White says Kael Lamouche, Gerik Giroux and Ethan Hunt are the newest members of the team.
Giroux is a familiar name from minor hockey in Slave Lake. He spent last season as a forward with the ‘AA’ Midget Whitecourt Wolverines, scoring two goals and eight assists in 27 games, according to eliteprospects.com. According to the Lakeside Leader, he scored a goal for the Slave Lake Thunder Midget team at Midget ‘C’ provincials in 2017.
Lamouche, from Grouard, comes out of the High Prairie minor hockey system, where he played forward for the Midget Legionnaires this past season. He scored four goals and eight assists in 20 games, according to the All Peace Hockey League website.
Hunt played ‘AA’ Midget with the Sturgeon Sting the year before last. Coach White says he is from Slave Lake.
The fourth new Icedog is Kierun White, a forward who played last season for the Bellingham Blazers and Cold Lake Wings (of the WPHA).
Says White on the recruiting process: “My scouting staff and I are talking with more players… and going into main camp in August we will be in a very good position.”
