Slave Lake Soccer Association U13 Strikers beat High Prairie 12 to 4 on June 13 in Slave Lake. It’s been a busy few weeks for both the U13 and U15/17.

On June 8 and 9, Slave Lake U13 and U17 competed in tournaments.

U13 competed at a tournament in Millet. They lost their first game on Saturday morning, but won their second game. On Sunday, they played two games, but didn’t win.

“The team only had 11 players show up to play and by the end the players were tired, but still played their hearts out,” says Esther Bylsma, association president.

In Edmonton, the U17 team lost on Saturday and the Sunday game was canceled due to poor weather.

“We had a strong showing for our U17, but just couldn’t come away with the win,” Bylsma says.

On June 20, U13 traveled to High Prairie to play them again. Slave Lake won 9 to 0.

On June 22, U13 hosted Athabasca at Roland Michener field. Athabasca won.

On June 23, the U15/U17 travelled to Donnelly and played Peace River at 11:45 a.m. and Spirit River at 2 p.m.
