RCMP seek witnesses to unsolved Bigstone First Nation murder

The RCMP asks anyone with information about a three-year-old unsolved homicide on Bigstone Cree Nation to contact them.

In December 2017, family members were concerned for Marvin Brian Auger, as they hadn’t seen him in a long time, says an October 26, 2020 RCMP news release. They found his body in his home on Bigstone Cree Nation near the community of Desmarais. The RCMP investigation suggests that in the early morning of October 26, 2017, Auger was shot and killed in his home.

The RCMP continues to investigate, the RCMP news release continues. This investigation includes interviews, forensic analysis, and executing warrants. Most recently, the RCMP collected evidence on Bigstone Cree Nation. They continue to examine this evidence. The RCMP is committed to finding the person or people responsible for Auger’s death.
