One person died following at early morning collision on June 3, 2018. The incident took place shortly after 4:00 a.m. on Highway 2A near the community of Smith.
According to a news release from Slave Lake RCMP, a southbound Honda Civic lost control and rolled in the west ditch coming to rest in a wooded area. The 20-year-old female driver was pronounced dead on scene while an 18-year-old female passenger was transported to an area hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The release goes on to say both occupants of the vehicle were residents of Slave Lake.
No other vehicles were involved and the RCMP continue to investigate all factors which may have contributed to this collision.
