Obituary – Malone, Ernest Arthur

Ernest Malone passed away at the Slave Lake Hospital-Extended Care. Ernest is lovingly remembered by his wife Emma of many wonderful years of marriage his 5 sons Arthur(Judy), Richard(Trudy), Barry(Sharon), Robert(Laura) & Kevin(Lisa) and 2 daughter’s Marie(John) & Grace(Wayne), 29 Grandchildren, 66 Great Grandchildren & 9 Great – Great Grandchildren. Ernest was born in Linfield, Alberta (near Barrhead), moved to Fawcett Lake with his dad at the age of 14 where they trapped and farmed, we call this homestead the Meadows. Ernest loved being out in nature, hunting, fishing, trapping & farming. Ernest married Emma and they made their first home in Smith. Later moved to Widewater where they farmed mink for a couple of years, then returned to Smith. After that they spent time in Wabasca where they owned & operated a store & coffee shop. They once again returned to Smith where they continue to raise their children. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 27th, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Christian Church in Smith, Alberta. We as a family would like to acknowledge the Staff & Dr.’s Hamden & Martin at the Slave Lake Hospital for all their loving care to Ernest over the past year. Ernest and Emma were able to spend their last weeks together as the first couple to be together in the Extended Care Unit. Ernest has gone to be with his Saviour & is no longer suffering.
