Obituary – Carpenter, June Leila

On April 10, 2015 June Carpenter passed away at the age of 83 years. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children and their spouses; Ken (Tracey), Janice (Dean), Bill, Susan (Gerry), Nancy (Orin), and Carol (Blaine), Jean, fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter as well as many other friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her husband Dave, her brothers Mort, Lloyd, Ralph, Ross and Doug, her sisters Bernice and Ruth and her daughter-in-law Kathy. June was born on June 21st, 1931 in Wapella, Sask. to Margaret and Mortimer Montgomery. In 1950 she met Dave Carpenter and they married on March 24, 1951. In 1964 the family moved from Weyburn to Slave Lake where June proceeded to become involved with the community while continuing to raise her family. Over the next 50 years June lived in the Slave Lake area with her favorite place being Assineau Campground where she enjoyed many summers sitting by camp fires with her family and friends. Her family would like to mention their appreciation to Doctors Keaveny and Martin, the nurses at the Slave Lake Hospital and the staff at Vanderwell Heritage Lodge. “June, your spirit will run beside us and your voice will be on the wind until we no longer exist.
