Playing the last-place team in the league, the Slave Lake Junior Heat had the same result as they did the previous weekend against the best team in the league – a win and a loss. The 3 and 14 Edmonton Community Park Reds were the visiting team this time, and beat the Heat by one run in Sunday’s first game.
“Edmonton rallied in the seventh inning to score two on us to go ahead 4 – 3,” says coach Cody Stasow. “Lee Worobec went the distance, pitching a complete game.”
The Heat turned things around in the second game, winning 5 – 2 behind a strong pitching performance by Ian Pollard. He pitched six innings and Brayden Stasow finished it off. Coach Stasow says Nick Mulich and Luke Macaulay both had multiple hits in the win.
This coming weekend the Heat travel to Calgary to play the Calgary North team.
