Heroes honored in the snow

On September 9 at 2:30 p.m., members of the Slave Lake Legion held a brief ceremony at the Slave Lake Cemetery. The snow was still falling and there was a good three inches of fresh snow on top of freezing rain. After saying a few words at the remembrance cross in the centre of the graveyard, Legion members placed a poppy and Canadian flag on each veteran’s grave. The list of veterans was recently expanded, but the Legion is looking for information about more.
