Good day chosen for season-ending turkey shoot

The Kinsuo & District Fish & Game Association couldn’t have picked a nicer day for its fall turkey shoot even at the gun range. This was on Oct. 3.

The temperature was warm, the sun was shining, the leaves were at their best and it wasn’t even windy. Not that much wind could have gotten into the protected little nook on the top of Prichuk Hill.

Twenty-six people competed in several events – 17 adults and nine youth. The event raised $445 for the club.

Here are the results, as provided by club secretary Sherida Labby. Each received a $20 Sobey’s gift certificate.

22 Open – Adult – Ian Churchill
.22 Scope – Adult – Chase Labby
Axe Throw – Adult – Colin Mackie
Archery – Adult – Colin Mackie
Rimfire Pistol – Adult — Everett Samuelson
Centerfire Pistol – Adult – Chase Labby
.22 Open – Youth – Mackenzie Moore
.22 Scope – Youth – Bailey Cardinal
Axe Throw – Youth – Morgan Saitz
Archery – Youth- Kyle Labby
Rimfire Pistol – Youth – Camille Gordon

Everett Samuelson, one of the organizers, says the group usually holds a bigger event in the spring, with different types of events.
