Emter promoted to HPSD human resources

Treva Emter has been appointed the new assistant superintendent of human resources for High Prairie School Division, states an HPSD news release.

She will assume the role from Johnathon Wiedrick, who will leave July 19 and move to a school division in Kamloops, British Columbia.

“Treva, we look forward to your continued efforts to enrich the educational lives of our staff and students,” says Tammy Henkel, who chairs the board.

Emter has been with HPSD for more than 20 years. She has nine years of experience in the classroom, six of those with HPSD at Prairie River Junior High School in High Prairie and the other three with Northland School Division at Gift Lake Community School.

Emter became the technology co-ordinator in 2006 and in 2009 was appointed as the supervisor of instruction before whe was appointed to assistant superintendent of learning in 2017.

She has facilitated professional learning opportunities at the Alberta Technology Leaders in Education conference and is a jurisdictional technology contact for Alberta Education.
