Cops catch drug dealer

Leader staff

The Lakeshore Regional Police Service (LRPS) reported last week that “a quantity of cocaine, drug-trafficking paraphernalia and other items” were seized in Driftpile on Aug. 21. The seizure and arrests followed a car chase within the community.

According to a release sent by Cpl. Patrick O’Brien, the LRPS chased a vehicle whose driver was attempting to flee from police. With the help of High Prairie RCMP, they managed to stop the vehicle. In addition to the items mentioned, police also seized weapons, cell phones and Canadian currency. One male and one female – both adults – are facing charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and flight from a peace officer. They are to appear in High Prairie Provincial Court on Oct. 19.

If you would like to report drug or gang activity in communities served by the LRPS, O’Brien’s release continues, give them a call at 1-855-299-0137. Or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
