Roland Michener Secondary School held its annual grad cake auction May 10, raising $14,987.40.
The graduating class hosts the auction each year to help raise money to cover the costs for the graduation ceremony. It has been going on for approximately 25 years. Students and families bake and design their own cakes outside of school hours and this year approximately 100 cakes were created.
The school holds two auctions’ one during school hours for students and one in the evening for the public.
