19-6 victory over the Parkland Twins


The Slave Lake Mosquito Heat started their Provincial Baseball weekend going one and one on July 7.

Game one saw the Heat go up against the Parkland Twins Red team. Colby Campbell got the start for the Heat on the mound going four innings with Grady Beauchamp and Grayson Conrad coming in for an inning each to help in the 19-6 victory.

Liam Dierker and Campbell both hit inside the park home runs and Oliver Horsman and Nico Diaz both went two for three at the plate to aid in the offence.

Game two saw the Heat go up against the Parkland Twins White team.

This was a back and forth game which eventually saw the Twins take the 15-10 victory. Jace Broadhead, Carson Maitland, and Beauchamp shared the pitching duties. Dane Dierker and Jerzie Green had key hits for the Heat and Creig Gelech was strong defensively. The Mosquitos will host Tier 3 Provincials this weekend with games starting Friday at 3:00 pm and Opening Ceremonies at 6:00 pm.

The Heat were in action on July 10 in High Prairie to finish round one of Provincial Play.
