10th Annual Slave Lake Rod and Gun Club family fun day

Scott Iverson, James Marshner, and Kashaan Mughal each won their category in the horn scoring at the Slave Lake Rod and Gun Club family fun day.

Iverson won largest moose. Marshner won largest typical white tail. In the hunter under 18 category, Mughal won largest deer.

Participants got the chance to sample and choose their favourite chili. Shelley Iverson’s chili won. Chris Labrie placed second.

The 10th annual fun day was on Saturday, January 18, in the Northern Lakes College gym in Slave Lake. The next Rod and Gun Club event is in June.

People had 30 opportunities to win a ham or turkey with a pellet gun ham and turkey shoot. Out of each line of shooters, the crack-shot went home with some meat.

There was also a balloon target practice with a bow and arrow, a taxidermy display and, and FireSmart activities.
