A Slave Lake man is facing 23 charges after RCMP searched his residence on Aug. 31.
According to a Sept. 4 release, officers executing the warrant found firearms, controlled substances and cash, as well as something called, somewhat mysteriously, “prohibited devices.”
The man was to appear in Slave Lake Provincial Court last Wednesday (Sept. 5), but the matter was put off to Sept. 12 for plea.
Charges include unlawful possession of a firearm, of a prohibited device/weapon, unlawful storage of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
Speaking of the process that led up to the bust, Staff Sgt. John Spaans said, “The execution of this search warrant was the culmination of targeted enforcement and intelligence gathering.”
