The towns Online Peace Officer auction was a hit with community members.
Chris Brown, the Communications Coordinator for the Town of Slave Lake, says the auction raised approximately $3,500.
The auction had closed Wednesday, March 28 after a viewing of items.
Brown says there still are about 10 to 15 smaller items left to be picked up. He said the town would be holding things as long as people had reached out and made prior arrangements.
If any items are left behind, they will go to the second highest bidder.
Brown also explains to make sure the bidding is fair, the laptop in the council chambers was used to determine the last bid.
Brown says the hours of the live viewing were extended from the original 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. to include people who may have been working until 5:00 p.m. “It was a great experience, and we will probably be doing something like this in the future,” says Brown.
