Slave Lake RCMP reported separate incidents of theft last week. One was of an ATM from the Petro Can station; the other was of “travel-sized” beauty products from the No Frills store.
The Max Fuels ATM grab happened in the early hours of July 4 and a lot of it was captured on security video. Police say four people were involved. They forced their way in, stocked up on “consumable goods” from the store, then attached a strap to the ATM and hauled it out with their pickup truck, causing quite a bit of damage.
The ATM was found later in the day along the Old Smith Highway.
The alleged theft from No Frills happened much earlier, on June 19, in the early afternoon. According to the release from RCMP Staff Sgt. John Spaans, a man and woman were seen in the cosmetics department of the store, “where they stole travel-sized goods.”
The pair are described as Caucasian and in their 20s. He was wearing brown coveralls with no shirt. She had on a black sweater and green leggings.
Police are asking anyone with information on either of these incidents to call them at 780-849-3999, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
