Strong finish for Jumpstart

Canadian Tire’s month-long fundraiser for its Jumpstart program was already rolling along pretty well when the barbecue and fun day event was held on June 23. General Manager Richard Kresky says the fundraising – which ran from May 28 – June 30 – raised in the ballpark of $11,000, making it “roughly 10 times more than last year’s amount already.”
That might make last year’s contribution to kids’ sporting activities in Slave Lake sound small, but Kresky says the store was able to help 333 kids last year with its Jumpstart funds. It can be for “any sporting activity,” he says, giving support for a rock-climbing wall as an example.
