Men’s Night at the Gilwood Golf Club on June 19 was a two-ball combined low net affair and it was a hot one, according to someone who was there. This referred to the weather – possibly also the competition.
Sixty-one players took part. When the dust settled, the two-person team of Don Tradewell and René Ouellette were low net winners at 70. In at second place after a count-back were Kiel Ching and Ryan Savard, also at 70.
Third place went to Joe Schultz and Bill Pearson at 71, with Murray Pichette and Barry Scott at 72 in fourth place. Low gross winners were Chad Caron and Thomas Spencer, at 81.
The ‘most honest’ team of the night was Eric Key and Chris Vandusen, who fired a sizzling 122.
Further results from Men’s Night include five deuces on the night, each winning 25 bucks for the guy who made it. These were Doug Kubel, James St. Martin, Joe Schultz, Bill Pearson and Rob Kyles.
Meanwhile, the ‘hidden skins’ pot continues to grow. It’s up to $212, says our correspondent. On June 19, Roger Cheechoo and Troy Dashkewytch both birdied #17, splitting the day’s skins payout. The $212 carries over to the July 3 Men’s Night. The June 26 Men’s Night is an 18-hole scramble, starting at 5:00 p.m. The combined handicaps of the team will be used to calculate the winners.
