Scholarship hand-over

The Slave Lake Legacy Scholarship was turned over to the Regional Library Board last week. The scholarship was established in 2014 from the proceeds of the sale of the book ‘The Sky Was On Fire.’ Two $1,000 awards are presented each year to area students going into arts-related post-secondary programs. Pictured are Joe McWilliams and MJ Munn-Kristoff (left and right) of the Fire Book Committee, presenting a $30,000 cheque to library board chair Angela Wright and board treasurer Jean Litz (second and third from the right). The board will now be accepting applications and choosing the scholarshp recipients.
