Recognition for the best among us

Here it is March already and we don’t have nearly enough nominations for Slave Lake’s two big volunteer awards – Citizen of the Year and Lifetime Volunteer. The awards are presented during National Volunteer Week, on April 19. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 23.

What we’re looking for are nominations for people who have done a lot to make their community better – in the past year in the case of Citizen of the Year, and over many years in the case of Lifetime Volunteer award.

There’s no need to write an essay – just a few points explaining why the person qualifies in your opinion. Nominations can be dropped off at The Leader office, mailed to Lakeside Leader, Box 849, Slave Lake AB, T0G 2A0, or emailed to lsleader@telusplanet.net.

It’s pretty much as simple as that.
