Two views of the work on the raw water intake pump house project in Wagner by the ball diamonds. Above is what it looks like from the lake access road; below, courtesy of Doug Baird of the Town of Slave Lake, is the view down the hole, where what he calls the ‘raft slab’ was being poured last Wednesday. This is more or less the cellar floor of the pump house, which is eight metres below finished grade. Holding out the water is a wall made of a series of interlocked concrete posts, poured before the hole was excavated. Baird says the next step will be to frame the cellar walls and start pouring them over the next week or two.
