M.D. bites bullet, buys truck

(Leftover council notes from the Oct. 25 meeting)

Transportation director Bill Klassen asked council’s blessing on the purchase of a replacement gravel/plow truck a bit earlier than anticipated. The reason, he said, is the old one is facing 30 grand in repairs and it’s not worth it.
The M.D. received 11 offers on new (used) trucks. The best of the bunch, in his opinion, was an International unit for $180,000. Council approved the recommendation.

Who goes where on Nov. 11
Councillors were asked to volunteer to attend three separate Remembrance Day ceremonies. Reeve Kerik will be at Flatbush, Rosche will take care of the one in Slave Lake and rookie councillor Sandra Melzer will cover the one in Smith.
