Slave Lake’s Parent Link service made the big move last week to its new premises in the former Family Care Clinic on 3rd Ave. NE in Slave Lake. Owned by the provincial government (and initially designated for conversion to housing) the building was offered some months ago to Parent Link, which was outgrowing its rented quarters at the Community Christian Centre. Parent Link offers free services to parents and children ages zero to six years old. These programs focus on early childhood development and parent education. The centre also offers developmental screenings and referrals to other agencies.
Meanwhile, there’s more renovating to be done. Parent Link manager Jaime Norberg says the downstairs portion of the building needs fixing up, after which it might be rented out to other agencies.
