It’s baaaaaaaaaaaack!

Himalayan balsam is a nice-looking ornamental plant, but it tends to escape from flower beds and take over large swaths of land, especially along water courses, crowding out native species of plants. That’s why it is considered both noxious and prohibited by the Province of Alberta. Steps were taken a couple of years ago to clear up a large patch in the northeast part of Slave Lake on a creek fringe behind homes along 3rd Ave. NE. But there it is again. Prohibited noxious, under the Weed Control Act, “must be destroyed.”
