On Sunday, May 27 The Slave Lake Animal Rescue Committee (ARC) held its annual dog walk and run. The walk started at the shelter and ended at the shelter with a barbecue lunch. It raised $8,500 for the shelter. Seventy-ive people took part and 45 dogs. The event has been held for 13 years, and the money raised from it is a huge help to the shelter.
Vice Chair Vanessa Bjornson with ARC says the event was a fantastic turnout and the weather was great.
“It’s always great to see all the dogs wearing the ARC yellow bandanas, and we loved seeing all the green ARC bandanas as those are given to the dogs that have been adopted from ARC.”
