Kevin Mertz is happy with the second biggest walleye of Day 1 at the Larry Dahlgren Memorial Walleye Tournament at Spruce Point Park on May 25. It tipped the scale at 4.78 lbs. He and his partner’s two-fish total at the 3:00 p.m. weigh-in, however, was tops for the day at 8.22 lbs.
Due to high winds, the competition was canceled on Saturday and moved to Sunday. Final results of the tournament were unavailable by press time. We hope to have them in next week’s Leader. But we did find out at the last minute that Aaron van Hoek and Josh Courtorielle were the winners!
