For the Lakeside Leader

It was a golden weekend for the dancers of Dance Creations, who attended a competition in Oliver B.C. July 5 and 6. The studio had 16 dancers performing 14 routines; five groups, eight solos and one duet. The dancers qualified to attend the competition by earning a mark of 87 or higher at a festival they attended in April. In total Dance Creations had 25 routines qualify, but not everyone could make the trip to B.C.

The dancers had quite the time off stage as well as onstage where all the routines earned gold plus one High Gold medal. The studio’s Junior three ballet routine won first place for their category and the Junior two group won Adjudicator’s Choice award for both their ballet, and jazz routines. Cadence Bellerive earned an Adjudicator’s Choice award for her solo, and first place was awarded to three of the studio’s soloists: Ava Bellerive, Rachel Wilgenbusch, and Tanica Johnson.

Miss Jodi and Miss Jen are so proud of the dancers’ dedication and hard work leading up to the championships. Congratulations!
