Curling league finals all set: Mixed League Monday, Men’s Thursday

Monday March 19th was the date for the Mixed League final. First place Ribs did battle with defending champion Mor-Port. Ribs team member Scott Iverson said “I like our chances. We’ve played them well during the regular season.”

Fourth-End Freestyle battles Double B Machining for third place. Hammer of Justice and the Falcons vie for fifth.

The Ladies’ League has already declared a champion for the 2017/2018 season. Congratulations go to skip Pam Morrison and her crew of Krista Morrison, Carol Ann Porterfield, Darci Samuelson and Tara Boyle as they outlasted the teams of Nash/Giroux and Severson in a year-long total points battle. When asked how it felt to win the title, skip Morrison said, “It feels awesome. I’ve curled 21 years in the ladies league and this is the first time we’ve won. My team played really well together this year.”

Lastly the Men’s League final has defending champion Hammertime facing the Sheet Disturbers. The Scott Tradewell-skipped Hammertime reached the March 22nd championship game with a semi-final win over Snap On while Ryan Norman and his Sheet Disturbers defeated the Whitecap Sheetheads in the other semi-final.
