Slave Lake RCMP are investigating the theft of over $5,000 of copper from a industrial site near Canyon Creek.
“At some point during the night of March 10 or early morning of March 11, 2018, suspects gained entry into the lease site,” says a release from RCMP Staff Sgt. John Spaans, “where they caused extensive damage in stealing the copper wire.”
RCMP are asking anyone with knowledge of this crime to contact them, either by phone at the Slave Lake detachment (780-849-3999), via Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or online at tipsubmit.com. If the information leads to an arrest, you could qualify for a reward.
On Jan. 10 2018, sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., someone stole a black Ford F250 pickup truck from the parking lot of the Slave Lake Inn & Conference Centre in Slave Lake. The truck has the Alberta license plate TKF234. It has a grey bottom, chrome handles, gas tank and vent visors. It has flare fenders, running boards, blacked out tail lights and a tonneau cover. The RCMP is requesting any information about suspicious activity observed in the area during this time.

A recreational trailer went up in smoke on a rural property on Southshore Drive in Widewater on March 26. The RCMP consider the fire suspicious and are seeking any information on who might have done it. The fire is believed to have occurred between the evening of Friday, March 23 and early morning hours of Sunday, March 26. The travel trailer was not in use at the time.
