A first-timer won the Gilwood Men’s Open on July 14 and 15, while the Ladies’ champ was a familiar face. Ryan Coish of Fort McMurray took the Men’s side with a 152 total over 36 holes. Connie Schultz of Slave Lake was the Ladies’ winner at 166.
The tournament – sponsored by Servus Credit Union – also had a couple of ‘net’ categories. Winners in those were Ethan Syslak of Slave Lake on the men’s side and Bev Willier of Kinuso on the ladies.’
Coming second to Coish on the men’s side was Thomas Spencer of Slave Lake, with John Keaveny of Slave Lake in third.
On the ladies’ side, Joyce Robinson of Slave Lake finished second and Bert Durgan of Slave Lake was in third place.
