Chemago drafted by CWHL team

Former Dartmouth College women’s hockey’s starting goalie Robyn Chemago of Slave Lake was selected with the first choice of the second round, eighth overall, by the Boston Blades in the 2017 Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) Draft on Aug. 20.
One hundred and five players representing nine countries were selected to join the Blades, Calgary Inferno, Kunlun Red Star, Markham Thunder, Les Canadiennes de Montreal, Toronto Furies and Rays for the 2017-18 season. The Rays and the Red Star are the CWHL’s two newest teams, while the Brampton Thunder – the league’s longest running club – relocated to Markham last month.
Dartmouth’s starting goalie from 2014-17, Chemago found her way into the all-time record book in almost every category: 682 saves this season (eighth), 2,242 career saves (third), .928 save percentage (fourth), .918 career save percentage (second), 83 career games (sixth) and a 2.49 career GAA (10th).
Chemago was unavailable for comment by press time.
