Royal LePage held its annual ‘garage’ sale fundraiser on May 25. The reason ‘garage’ is in quotation marks is because it is a lot more than a garage sale. It takes place inside and outside the curling rink in Slave Lake and this year included an antique car show and a petting zoo. All that on top of a barbecue a big 50/50 draw and various other fundraising schemes.
The event was all in aid of the Roland Michener School grad class of 2019, whose members pitched into to help run things.
“It went really well!” says Julie Brandle of Royal LePage. “The petting zoo is always a great draw and we opened it up to (High Level) evacuees as well. A new addition this year was the classic cars on display. They said they had a blast! The bake sale sold out and we didn’t have many burgers left from the bbq, so all in all – a success!”
Around $5,000 was raised for the RMS grad class.
