2017 Easter service at St. Peter Celestin Catholic Church

St. Peter Celestin Catholic Church, like many other churches in town, celebrated Good Friday last weekend. St. Peter Celestin hosted a special service where parishioners went through each station of the cross, said a prayer and sang a hymn. Father Ephrem originally planned to have a procession through the streets of Slave Lake but unfortunately the damp snow made for poor conditions.

The people in the picture above are in front of the third station of the cross; which is called ‘Jesus falls for the first time.’ There are 14 stations of the cross in total that are observed on Good Friday.
